Visual Intersections 1 – Summer School 11th-13th July 2016

The Visual Intersections 1 PhD Summer School served as a fantastic learning opportunity and a supportive environment for young researchers to exchange ideas, present their work and discuss on key themes and issues in the study of visual culture and visual methodologies. We had a diverse community including a range of different disciplines, subjects and participating countries that added to the inter-disciplinarity of the school and its ethos. We also realised the need and demand for such a learning environment and we hope this will be the first of a series of successful summer schools and conferences that will support postgraduate researchers at different stages of their academic careers and establish a network of researchers working within the field of visual culture.
